Characterisation of education information systems in Latin America and the Caribbean

This article is the result of the presentation made at the panel "Uses of EMIS in education policy planning and management" at the 5th Regional Forum on Education Policy organised by IIEP UNESCO, Office for Latin America, and the systematisation of the first results of a comparative study covering eight countries in the region: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Peru and the Dominican Republic.
